Hollywood Dancesport News and Reminders

Michael and Mary are getting very excited as they continue to make plans and create surprises for the Hollywood Dancesport Championships. We can't wait to share this experience with all you students, teachers, professionals and spectators.
Here are some of the things we want you to know about.
1. Junior dance entry prices have been reduced to $10 per dance except for scholarships.
2.Nigel Lythgoe from "So You Think You Can Dance" will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award"
3. You can fly into Los Angeles or Burbank. Please try to avoid arriving during peak traffic times. A shuttle from LAX to the hotel will cost about $44 1 way and a taxi will be about $90. From Burbank the shuttle is about $27 1 way and a taxi is $55.00.
4. Victor DaSilva and Hanna Karttunen - World Exhibition Champions - will be doing the show on Friday and Saturday evenings.
5. Scholarships - Open Scholarship winners will receive $1000.
6. Pot of Gold - Teachers will earn money for each dance. This is in addition to the Top Teacher awards.
7. Professional Show Dance category winners will receive transportation vouchers and hotel rooms for the Ohio Star Ball.
